‘Plastic, polythene should not spoil tourism of Haor’

President Md. Abdul Hamid urged everyone including public representatives and civil society to be careful in using plastic waste and polythene to protect the balance of the environment.
‘Use of plastic waste and polythene should be taken care of so as not to spoil the tourism environment of Haor areas. Everyone should be careful to protect the environment.’
President Abdul Hamid was addressing an exchange views meeting with professionals, local representatives and goverment officials at local upazila auditorium in Austagram on Tuesday evening.
The President also said that, various types of misleading information are being spread about the development of Haor . You have to be careful about that.
He urged everyone to work together to protect the environment and improve the economy and quality of life.
Addressing the politicians, the President Hamid said, you should ask the people and the voters whether they have any complaint against you. Then an environment of good relations and accountability will be created between the people and the politicians and the development of the country will be accelerated.
Mentioning that the concept of sustainable development has been strengthened in the world’s environmental thinking, Hamid said that care should be taken to ensure that development does not destroy the environment.
Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, President Hamid visited Vatshala Bridge on Mithamain-Ashtagram road. He then inaugurated ‘Tourism Ashtagram’ at the ‘I Love Ashtagram’ point on the Mithamain-Ashtagram highway at a distance of 16 km from Mithamain.
Later, President Abdul Hamid visited the bridge in Ashtagram.
