Plantation program opens at DEPZ

Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) has started plantation program for greenery activities in Dhaka EPZ to create eco-friendly industrial area and enhancing beautification.
 Major General Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, ndc, psc, Executive Chairman of BEPZA has inaugurated this program through planting trees at Dhaka EPZ in Savar on Thursday, says a press release.
This greenery initiative has taken by BEPZA Chief as a part of eco-friendly awareness activities together with implementing modern industrialization in EPZs. DEPZ will be transformed into ‘Green Zone” by this eco-friendly expedition which will balance the environment and enhancing beautification of this custom bonded EPZ area.
Contemporary world is conscious in economic development simultaneously environmental issues; hence, this plantation program is very much important for environment and its protection. In this connection, Dhaka EPZ has taken greenery step.
As a part of this program it has been planted 1200 different plants including various flower beside the zone walkway and Mehogani, Bakul, Neem, Krishnachura besides main entrance highway of DEPZ.  
The 102 operational industries of Dhaka EPZ where 87,018 workers have been employed, so this plantation program has taken to coup with modern world for eco-friendly and beautifications of EPZ’s industrial zone. In addition, Central Effluent treatment plant already operates to ensure eco-friendly environment in DEPZ.
 Ahsan Kabir, General Manager of Dhaka EPZ, Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (PR), Enterprises Representatives and other officers were present at the inauguration program.
