Plane crash Pilot Abid`s wife suffers from brain stroke

Afsana Khanam, the wife of pilot Captain Abid Sultan who lost his life in the US-Bangla aircraft crash in Kathmandu on March 12, has been suffering from a stroke.
She was admitted to the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital (NINH) for better treatment. The NINH doctors also conducted a surgery on her.
Assistant Professor of NINH Shiraji Shafiqul Islam said that she had multiple clotting in the right side of her brain and as a result her body’s left side became paralyzed.
Joint-Director of the NINH Badrul Alam said the operation was successful, but the patient is still not out of danger.
 “She has been kept in the ICU and her condition will be known after 24 to 48 hours observation, said the physician adding that Afsana was a diabetic patient and suffered the stroke because of stress,” he said.
Pilot Abid Sultan of the US-Bangla flight and all four cabin crew members died in the crash on March 12 that claimed the lives of 51 people.
On that day, flight BS211 took off from Dhaka at 12:51pm with 32 Bangladeshis, 33 Nepalese, and one each from the Maldives and China. It was scheduled to land at Tribhuban at 2:20pm [BST].
