Staff Reporter :
The government plans to raise the level of pass marks in all the public examinations after facing criticism due to the huge pass rates in recent Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary Certificate examinations.
A decision was taken in this regard after consultation with the concerned quarters, Education Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Khan told reporters at the Secretariat on Thursday.
“No country in the world has 33 as pass marks. A seminar will be arranged with all those involved in education,” Nazrul Islam Khan said.
“We will collect opinions from all the top level educationists and education related oraganisations in this regard. Finally, the Education Ministry will take final decision,” he said.
