The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today advised the ministry to present a comprehensive plan for vaccine production in the country at the next meeting of the Standing Committee on Health, to bring everyone under vaccination soon.
Presided over by committee Chairman Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, the meeting discussed the development of ‘Bangladesh Children’s Hospital and Institute Bill, 2021’ and EDCL Gopalganj Branch Covid-19 vaccine production, said a release here.
The meeting recommended raising the Bangladesh Children’s Hospital and Institute Bill, 2021 in the National Assembly with necessary amendments.
It was also recommended in the meeting to take necessary steps to make all announcements related to the Ministry of Health through the Ministry of Health itself and, it was decided to send copies of the recommendations of the committee meeting to all the ministries.
The ministry is recommended to present a comprehensive plan for vaccine production to bring all the people under vaccination at the earliest, at the next meeting.
Committee members Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque,
AFM Ruhul Haque, Muhibur Rahman Manik, Md Mansur Rahman, Md Abdul Aziz, Syeda Zakia Nur, Rahgir Almahi Ershad and Md Amirul Alam Milon attended the meeting.
Relevant officials of the Parliamentary Secretariat including Secretary of Health Services Department, Secretary of Health Education and Family Welfare Department, Director General of Health Department, heads of various agencies and Secretary of Standing Committee on Ministry of Health and Family Welfare were also present at the meeting.
