Economic Reporter :Probashi Kalyan Bank is providing credit support to overseas job seekers with a view to boosting country’s economy.With increasing lending by nearly 100 percent in 2015, Probashi Kalyan Bank (PKB) effectively boosted its credit support to overseas job seekers, said a senior official of the bank.The bank disbursed TK 58.50 crore loan among 327 outbound workers for getting jobs in different countries. The loan amount was nearly double than Taka 29 crore 86 lakh, disbursed among 964 people in 2014 for the same purpose.”In line with the major objective of the bank, we have focused on increasing lending to people who want to get job overseas”, PKB Managing Director Md Mosharrf Hossain Chowdhury said.He said, the bank is now operating across the country through 49 branches where people in increasing number coming to get loans for going abroad with jobs.The managing director said, all the branches have been given a target for loan disbursement so that more people could get the migrant loan.Besides, he said the size of the total loan amount would also be increased so the bank could provide loan to more people in the coming days. He noted that the amount of loan per person had already been increased to Taka 1 lakh 50 thousand from previous 84 thousand.Chowdhury said, the bank had also started communicating with manpower importing countries for arranging necessary fund to give loans to more overseas going workers.
