Gouripur Pilot Girls’ High School organised a day- long ‘Pitha Utshab’ on January 23, 2015 in Gouripur Upazila of Mymensingh district.
Pitha (rice cakes) occupies an important place in our culinary culture. For Bengalis it has been a long tradition to make varieties of pitha, particularly in the winter.
Students and teachers of different 12 high schools and colleges of this upazila attended the function at school premises.
The programme was inaugurated by a Freedom Fighter Dr. Capt. Alhajj Mujibur Rahman Fakir (Retd.) MP, Former State Minister for Health & Family Welfare as the chief guest while UNO Dur-e-Shahwaz was present as a special guest.
The festival started in the morning and continued till January 23, 2015 5.00 pm
A huge number of students and inhabitants of this upazila joined the programme.
