UNB, Dhaka :Family members of former BNP MP Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintu on Sunday alleged that he was killed in a planned way in jail. Pintu’s bereaved wife Nasima Akhter, mother Hosne Ara and other family members brought the allegation while talking to journalists at their Hajaribagh residence. “My son was killed after taking him to Rajshahi. This government has killed my son as it killed many others by resorting to enforced disappearance and killing,” Pintu’s sobbing elderly mother told journalists.”I want the trial of this murder. Oh Allah you hold the trial,” the dejected mother said. Hosne Ara also alleged that Pintu had been implicated in BDR carnage case through a conspiracy. “Now they finally killed my son in jail.”After regaining her sense as she fainted twice hearing the death news of her husband, Nasima said, “My husband can’t die. He has been killed in a planned way in jail.”Several hundred BNP leaders and activists gathered at Pintu’s home after knowing about his death.BNP vice chairman Selima Rahman, Mohila Dal general secretary Shirin Sultana and some other BNP leaders went to Pintu’s house to console his bereaved family members.Pintu’s brother Nasim Ahmed Rintu sat out for Rajshahi around 3pm to receive his dead body from the jail authorities.Rintu said, “My brother has been murdered through a well-though-out plan. The High Court had ordered the jail authorities to give him treatment at a specialised hospital as he fell sick. Despite that, my brother was taken to Rajshahi from Narayanganj jail on April 20. We’ve come to know that he was not given treatment there.”He also said, the jail authorities did not allow Pintu to receive treatment under any specialised doctor. His younger sister Misti said her brother always enquired about his family members through his followers. “Why was he not taken to hospital when he fell seriously ill…they didn’t give him treatment in a bid to kill him.”
