Steered by opener Pinak Ghosh’s brilliant 62-run knock enabled Legends of Rupganj to record an emphatic six-wicket victory over Victoria Sporting Club in the sixth round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (PCL) held on Friday at BKSP ground-4 in Savar.
Pinak hit four boundaries during his patient 110-ball stay on the crease while skipper Naeem Islam (29 n.o) and Raja Ali Dar (9 n.o), completed the formality for Rupganj with 27 balls remaining.
M Arafat, Rubel Mia, Imamul Mustakim and Monir Hossain shared one wicket each for Victoria.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Victoria faced serious batting jolt and failed to recover from their early loss and eventually dismissed at a paltry total of 155 in 45.3 overs in the face of devastating bowling attacks by the Rupganj bowlers.
Uttam Sarkar top scored with 35 runs as the Victoria batting line-up had good starts but no big score.
Raza Ali Dar was the pick of Rupganj bowlers as he grabbed three wickets for 13 runs. He was well supported by Mosharraf Hossain and M Sharif who both bagged two wickets giving away 36 and 44 runs respectively. Pinak Ghosh of Rupganj was named the player of the match for his match-winning knock.
