Snatched money found: Pickpocket caught red-handed

A pickpocket was cought red-handed by an on-duty police sergeant in the city on Saturday.
Yusuf Chouwdhury, the on-duty sergeant, said that he caught Liton red-handed at about 11:30 am near the Salahuddin Specialised Hospital at Wari when thepickpocket along with his partner was fleeing the spot after stealing something from the pocket of a commuter named Abid Miah.
The two pickpockets stole Tk 12,000/- in cash from the pocket of Abid Miah. After the incident, the sergeant applied his efforts to recover the snatched money. In the interrogation, Liton confessed that they snatched the amount of Tk 12,000/ from Abid Miah.
At one stage, the police sergeant realised the cash money from Liton. His partner named Ameer, who fled the spot, sent the amount through `bKash`, a transaction system over mobile phone. Later, the recovered money was given to Abid Miah.
Abid Miah and the pickpocket were also sent to Wari Thana. The police sergeant said that a case was filed against the pickpocket with the Thana in this connection.
