The Physics question papers of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination were leaked on Tuesday despite strong measures taken by the government to check it.
The leaked question papers “Ga set multiple choice questions” were found identical to the original one, an hour before the examination started.
Leaked questions were, as usual, available all over the social media and multiple accounts.
On Monday, the government formulated a strict guideline of banning mobile phones around the vicinity of examination centres. The order was to arrest anyone found with mobile phone set in the area.
This has to be the largest ever reported spate of question paper leak with questions being available ahead of the SSC examination that started from February 1.
Meanwhile, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday arrested one person allegedly involved with the question papers leakage from the capital’s Agargaon area.
Meanwhile, the Chittagong district administration on Tuesday found SSC students checking leaked questions on their mobile phones inside a bus in Chittagong.
Executive Magistrate Syed Murad Ali said, the bus was parked near the WASA intersection of the port city when the raid was conducted on Tuesday.
About 50 students of Patiya Ideal School were supposed to sit for physics examination at Bangladesh Mahila Samity High School.
“They were looking at the images of multiple choice questions. The leaks matched the test questions,” Ali said.
The bus looked suspicious as it was standing at the spot with only an hour left before the test and there were students inside,” the magistrate said.”The students said that they found the soft copies on WhatsApp. Five mobile handsets were seized from them.”
The students will be penalised as per the code of conduct for exams, said Md Habibur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) in Chittagong.
The government has issued directives to the secretary general of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, divisional commissioners and chairmen of education boards to keep an eye on question leaks.
The students must take seats inside the halls, 30 minutes ahead of the exams, as per the latest directives.
The government has banned the use of mobile phones near examination centres in a desperate attempt to stem the steady flow of question leaks on the social media.
