Speakers at a meeting urged the physicians to provide healthcare services to the patients in general to cope with the present troubled situation caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
“This is not the time of abstaining from duties and neglecting the patients through keeping the doors of doctors closed,” said AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation, while addressing the meeting held on Wednesday at Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) as chief guest.
He said the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to tackle the present adverse situation, adding that the government has been extending the doctors and other paramedics with personal protective equipment, masks, hand gloves and sanitizers to protect them from the virus infection.
So, they supplement the government endeavors through discharging their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty, Mayor Liton added.
Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, Director of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital Brig Gen Jamilur Rahman, RMC Principal Prof Nawshad Ali and Divisional Director of Health Dr Gopendra Nath Acharya also spoke.
