Physicians urged to perform duties with utmost sincerity

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque attended the joining ceremony of newly-appointed physicians of the 37th BCS (Health) cadre service, asking them to get tuned to positive mindset in performing their duties.
While speaking the minister urged doctors and other concerned to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to reach healthcare at the doorsteps of rural and marginal people.
“I want to see your works. You will take forward the nation through proper services. I believe whole-heartedly that you will bear a positive outlook in performing your professional duties,” he said this on Monday while speaking at the ceremony held at Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) auditorium in the city.
Zahid said the government has taken a plan to post at least 4 doctors each in all the upazilas under six divisions excepting Dhaka and Chattogram.
Rural people are dependent on public hospitals for emergency health problems and the present government is committed to reaching healthcare services to them, he said.
“I am very much positive towards fulfilling the emergency needs on priority basis. All the logical requirements will be fulfilled in phases,” he said assuring that required funds would be allocated for further improvement.
Senior officials of the ministry and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) were present on the occasion.
A total of 306 newly-appointed assistant surgeons and assistant dental surgeons, who passed the examinations under the 37th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), joined the health cadre service at the office of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in the city’s Mohakhali area on Sunday.
