Physicians, nurses urged to discharge duties sincerely

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque urged physicians and nurses to discharge their duties with sincerely and honesty to improve quality of healthcare services.
“Action will be taken against those doctors and nurses who will remain absent in their workplace,” he said this on Monday while speaking at a conference of Ship IC Medical Service Limited in a hotel in the city.
State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Murad Hasan, State Minister for Disaster Management Dr Enamur Rahman, officials and representatives of different government and non-government organizations, among others, were present at the function.
Zahid said alongside increasing facilities including residential and transportation for doctors and physicians, the government are taking three tiers monitoring for ensuring better healthcare services for the common people.
“Though the country has achieved remarkable successes in the health sector over the past few years, we need to do more in this sector for quality of healthcare services for all,” he added.
Zahid said, “We have been successful for preventing infectious diseases…. Now, we are taking initiatives to prevent non-communicable disease for saving lives of the people.”
