Physically challenged Tara Mia gets HC bail

Physically challenged Tara Mia, was made accused of attacking police just before December 30 polls, secured a six-month bail from the High Court publishing of a report after in some daily news papers.
He is one of the 52 accused in a case filed for attacking policemen with machetes, hockey sticks and iron rods in Sunamganj’s Mallikpur Bazar area around 4:30pm on December 28.
The High Court also asked Tara Mia to surrender in the lower court in Sunamganj after his bail term expires.
The HC bench of Justice Md Rais Uddin and Justice Jahangir Hossain passed
the order when Tara’s lawyer informed the court about the report.
Md Abidul Haque, lawyer for Tara Mia, submitted the report in the court and told that a physically challenged man could never attack police. He was intentionally implicated in the case, the lawyer said.
After the bail order, the lawyer told reporters, “The High Court heard the argument and granted bail to Tara Mia”.
Being happy, Tara said, “I urge the court to acquit me of the charges”.
Tara Mia was made an accused in the case filed with Jamalganj Police Station in Sunamganj on the charge of attacking police in Mallikpur Bazar area, two days before the 11th parliamentary polls.
According to the case statement, the accused gathered unlawfully in Mallikpur Bazar area and brought out a procession in support of “Sheaf of Paddy.
