Prabir Das Gupta, a former photojournalist of the Daily Sangbad and the Daily Janakantha, passed away at a hospital in the USA on Monday. He was 57. Gupta who was undergoing treatment for cancer in the USA, breathed his last around 6:30am, said a Jatiya Press Club press release on Tuesday.
Prabir is survived by wife, one daughter and a host of relatives and admirers.
In a condolence message, Jatiya Press Club President Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and its General Secretary Qamrul Islam Chowdhury expressed profound shock at the death of Prabir Das.
The nation has lost a noted photojournalist at Parbir’s death. They prayed for salvation of his departed soul and expressed deep sympathy for the bereaved family members.
