Syed Safiul Basher Ayon, a senior photographer of Y Magazine, died at the age of 33 on Monday.
‘My brother died at about 12:15pm in Bangladesh Institute of Health Sciences General Hospital in Dhaka,’ said Ayon’s brother Syed Samiul Basher Anik.
Ayon left his parents, a brother and a sister to mourn his death.
The photographer tested positive for Covid on July 6 and had been undergoing treatment at home.
As his health condition deteriorated, he was admitted to Green Life Hospital in Dhaka on July 16 and then was shifted to Bangladesh Institute of Health Sciences General Hospital where he died.
The photographer contributed to lifestyle magazine Canvass, daily New Age’s supplements Joven and Trends, Samakal, Jugantar and Ntv.
He was buried at Rayerbazar Martyred Intellectuals’ Graveyard in Dhaka after namaj-e-janaza at Adabar.
