A three-day photography exhibition styled “History Speaks”begun at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) yesterday.
CVASU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Goutom Buddha Das formally inaugurated the exhibition at CVASU Shahid Minar premises by igniting solemn candle around 11am.
The VC in his inaugural speech said the exhibition would help the visitors to know about the true and glorious history of our independence especially the wireless message in Chittagong, sent by the Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman just on the eve of the proclamation of independence.
A total of 640 photographs on British rule, Liberation War, the birth of Pakistan on the basis of bi-nation theory, Bangabandhu, conspiracy against Father of nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his assassination, communal and political violence in Bangladesh, militant activities and movement of Hefazat-e-Islam, collected by Sahabuddin Majumdar are being showcased in the exhibition. The exhibition will remain open to all till evening on November 20.
VC of University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) Prof Dr Pravat Chandra Barua, CVASU registrar Mirza Faruk Imam, proctor Prof Goutom Kumar Debnath, students welfare director Prof Dr Mohammad Alamgir Hossain, Assistant Proctor Fahad Bik Kadir, deans of different faculties and heads of different departments, among others, were present on the occasion.
