UNB, Dhaka :
The Philosophia Metropolis 2nd Division Chess League, organized by Bangladesh Chess Federation, began at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room on Tuesday.
Director and Member Secretary of the tournament sponsor Philosophia English Medium School Zahurul Haque Babu inaugurated the meet.
Chaired by Tournament Committee Chairman Mohammad Jahangir Islam, the function was also attended by Vice-President of Bangladesh Chess Federation KM Shahidullah and General Secretary Gazi Shayiful Tarique.
A total of 23 teams, including four children and one Braille ones, are taking part in the seven-round Swiss League System meet.
Later, top two teams will qualify for the First Division Chess League from next season.
The 2nd round matches will be held today (Wednesday) from 3pm at the same venue.
