PhD student Moni arrested

The PhD (Philosophy of Doctorate) fellow, who was “missing” since early Thursday, has been arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from the city’s Airport arena for his alleged involvement in anti-government propaganda and copyright infringement.
The arrested man was identified as Enamul Haque Moni, 31, hailing from Radhanagar of Pabna Sadar upazila, said Mufti Mahmud Khan, Legal and Media Wing Director of RAB.
He said, Moni “used to distort contents of different news media and posted those contents online and was also involved with the anti-government propaganda”.
Moni was arrested by RAB-2 members in Airport area, said Mahiuddin Faruqui, Additional SP of RAB-2.
Family members claimed that Moni went missing when he was going to Shahjalal International Airport to board a flight for South Korea on Thursday night.
He was scheduled to fly for South Korea, where he was doing his PhD, at 1:00am on Thursday, his wife Nipa told the media on Friday night.
A General Diary has been lodged in this regard with Dakshin Khan Police Station, the following day.
