The Department of Pharmacy of the East West University (EWU) has arranged seminar on “Manufacturing, Regulations and Marketing of Pharmaceuticals: Prospects and Challenges” recently at Aftabnagar.
Health Minister Mohammed Nasim was the chief guest while Syed Monjurul Islam, Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare and the President of the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh was the special guest at the function.
Parvez Hashim, Executive Director (Operations) of Square Pharmaceuticals gave a presentation on “Generic business in USA: Challenges & opportunities for Bangladeshi pharmaceutical companies”.
He said ‘the large market of the USA could be a great opportunity for export of the pharmaceutical products of Bangladesh’. ‘And two big players of Bangladesh, Square Pharmaceuticals and Beximco pharmaceuticals have already completed the first step successfully towards the US Food and Drug Authority (FDA) approval’ – he informed the audience.
He told about the challenges on the way to fulfill the requirements.
