State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque on Wednesday said pharmaceuticals industry is one of the potential sectors in the country, which is playing a key role in earning foreign currency.
“Pharmaceuticals industry will surpass other industries in earning foreign currencies soon,” he said while visiting a factory of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd (BPL) at Gazipur, a handout said.
Highlighting the growth of the sector, Mujibul said many developed countries like the USA and Germany are using Bangladeshi medicines.
Labour and Employment secretary Afroza Khan, director deneral of Bangladesh Workers’ Welfare Foundation Fund Dr Anisul Awal and chief executive officer of BPL Rabbur Reza were, among others, present.
