Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Monday said permanent market will be established to facilitate the marketing of products, produced by small and medium industries.
“The permanent market will create employment opportunities. It will also help achieve the target of the government’s election manifesto,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at the fifth buyers and seller’s conference at Micro Industries Development Assistance and Services (MIDAS) center in the city.
SME Foundation organised a daylong conference with the participation of 45 new women entrepreneurs across the country.
Humayun said SME Foundation has already achieved success in creating skilled women entrepreneurs at grassroots level. “As a result, the contribution of SME sector to the national economy has increased. This has triggered the pace of rural economy,” he added.
According to the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said, industries ministry will continue to provide necessary policy supports to ensure the market value of SME entrepreneurs and the appropriate prices of the SME products.
SME Foundation Chairperson KM Habibullah presided over the meeting while Managing Director of the SME Foundation M Shafiqul Islam delivered the welcome speech.
