The Pepsi-DRU Cricket Tournament begins today at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium. Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) has arranged the six-a-side cricket meet for the journalists and Pepsi is the title sponsor of the cricket competition.
A total of 41 media splitting into eight groups are taking part in the cricket tournament.
GTV, Banglanews24.com, Daily Star, Bangla Vision, Diganta Television are in Group A, Channel i, The Independent, Amader Samoy, Amader Aurthonity, Dhaka Tribune are in Group B, Alokito Bangladesh, Time BD News, Samakal, Naya Diganta are in Group C, ATN News, The Janakantha, The New Nation, Radio Today , Jamuna TV are in Group D, Maasranga Television, Prothom Alo, RTV, UNB, Inqilab are in Group E, NTV, Daily Bartaman, The New Age, Sakaler Khabar, BSS are in Group F, Independent TV, Daily Observer, Daily Sangram, Channel24, The Report24.com are in Group G, Boishakhi TV, Kalbela, Ekattor TV, Jai Jai Din, Aurthonity Protidin, The Daily Ittefaq are in Group H,
To mark the forthcoming cricket meet, a press conference was held at the DRU’s Sagar-Runi Auditorium on Friday.
President of DRU Shahed Chowdhury, Vice-President of DRU Rafiqul Islam Azad, General Secretary of DRU Elias Khan, Market Development Manager of Pepsi Md Arif Hossain, General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Organising Secretary of DRU Morsalin Nomani, Sports Secretary of DRU Badrul Alam Chowdhury Khokon were present at the conference.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk 5,00,000 while Pepsi has given Tk 5,00,000 to DRU.
President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nazmul Hassan Papon, MP will inaugurate the cricket meet today as the chief guest.
