The Pepsi-DRU Media Cricket Tournament began at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Sunday. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anisul Haque, MP inaugurated the cricket meet as the chief guest. President of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Shakhawat Hossain Badshah, Vice-President of DRU Rafiqul Islam Azad, General Secretary of DRU Elias Hossain, Joint-Secretary of DRU Ferdaus Mobarok, Finance Secretary of DRU Asharaful Islam, Sports Secretary of DRU Badrul Alam Chowdhury, Co-Chairman of the Tournament Committee Shafiqul Islam Shamim, Member Secretary of the Tournament Committee Mohiuddin Polash and Brand Co-Ordinator of Transcom Beverages Limited Sharfuddin Bhuiyan were present at the time.
In the day’s first match, Daily Observer defeated ATN News by three wickets. Mamunur Rashid of Daily Observer was adjudged the Man of the Match. In the day’s other matches, Independent TV beat Manbzamin by 22 runs, NTV crushed Amader Samay by 40 runs, banglamail24.com thrashed The Daily Independent by 90 runs at the same venue.
Meanwhile, RTV got walkover against Daily Sun and Kalbela got walkover against Asian TV on the same day.
