BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Sunday said that the people of the capital city are suffering from acute gas and water crisis in the holy month of Ramazan.
“The people of the capital city are suffering from acute gas and water crisis in the holy month of Ramazan. Besides, there is a also serious load shedding across the country,” he said this while addressing a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the city.
He said, “The government is also involved in killing of people in the name of gunfight by the law enforcers. They killed seven more persons in last

three days in four districts,” he said. Rizvi also said the party is now in two-point programmes.
“We are in two-point programmes now — one is to release of jailed party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, the other is to dissolution of the Parliament and to realize the poll-time neutral government,” he added
The BNP leader criticized the latest remark of the ruling Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, where he said that the election would be held in time with or without BNP and asked if there was any relation between Khaleda and election.
The AL leader said this at a programme on Saturday.
Responding to Obaidul’s remark, Rizvi said, “BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and election are related to each other. Khaleda Zia means symbol of nationalist force, BNP and democracy.”
“Quader’s statement indicated conspiracy to keep Khaleda Zia out of the upcoming general election and to hold a unilateral election forcibly,” he said.
Rizvi said, “BNP would not participate in any national election without Khaleda Zia. BNP would take part in the next general election under Khaleda Zia’s leadership and under a neutral government.”
BNP Senior leader Habibur Rahman Habib, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Habibul Islam Habib, Asadul Karim Shaheen and Munir Hossain, among others, were present.
