UNB, Dhaka :
Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad MP on Thursday said people want to get rid of godfathers, killings and forced disappearances.
Taking part in the general discussion on the proposed budget for the upcoming budget, the former president said Bangladesh has now turned into a death valley due to forced disappearances and killings.
“Emergence of godfathers in Bangladesh is an ominous sign. Godfathers were earlier in the USA and Italy, but now godfathers have emerged in our country… we don’t want such godfathers,” he said.
Referring to the sensational Narayanganj seven murders, including that of Chandan Sarkar, the ex-military ruler said Chandan’s daughter Sushmita Sarkar still calls her father but it goes unheeded.
