BSS, Dhaka :
Lawmakers urged the people to unite for re-electing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for third consecutive term to uphold the continuity of the existing development.
The present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has turned the country into a role model of the development and the people of all stairs should unite for re-electing the present government so that the development activities to be continued, they said.
Taking part in the discussion on Thursday on the thanksgiving motion on the President’s address to the House, they hailed Sheikh Hasina for taking forward the country towards development.
“We are struggling for making a developed country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” said treasury bench member AKM Jahangir Hossain of Patuakhali-3.
Bangladesh is moving towards the development of super highway under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Sheikh Hasina while an alleged political quarter is opposing the development and hatching conspiracy against the incumbent government, he said.
Highlighting the success of the present government, treasury bench member of Lalmonirhat-2 and State Minister for Social Welfare Nuruzzaman Ahmed said the once poverty ridden country has upgraded to a digital Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the only leader who launched various types of allowances for the physically impaired people under the Social Welfare Ministry, said the State Minister.
Bitterly criticizing the role of BNP-Jammat government from 2001 to 2006, he said the BNP-Jamaat alliance vandalized properties and killed innocent people across the country. They also raped women and looted valuables during their regime.
But now Bangladesh is now marching forward to achieve the goal of middle income country within 2021, Nuruzzaman told the House.
He also thanked the President for giving a timely speech highlighting the success stories of the government and guiding the nation towards peace, progress and prosperity.
Earlier, the lawmakers paid a rich tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for his contribution to establishing an independent Bangladesh and the national four leaders along with all mortared freedom fighters.
Treasury bench lawmakers Makbul Hossain of Pabna-3, Kabirul Haque of
Narail-1 , Shibli Sadique of Dinajpur-6, Showkat Hasanur Rahman Rimon of
Barguna-2, Abul Kalam Azad of Gaibandha-4, Selina Akhter Banu, Workers
Party member Hazera Khatun of women seat-39, also addressed in the
