People to cast vote for ‘Boat’ for continuation of democracy: Menon

Workers Party President and Grand Alliance candidate in Dhaka-8 constituency Rashed Khan Menon expressed his optimism that the people will cast their votes for symbol ‘Boat’ in the upcoming parliamentary election to help continue the democratic practice in the country.
“The people will cast their votes in fabour of ‘Boat’ symbol to help materialize the dream of a non-communal, hunger, poverty and corruption free democratic Bangladesh,” he said this on Friday while conducting election campaign in Shantinagar Bazaar area here.
He said the people didn’t forget the subversive acts, violent activities and politics of killing carried out by BNP-Jamaat clique to turn the country into a failed state, a press release said.
Menon said the people will boycott BNP-Jamaat in the election as they could not understand the mindset of people.
Dhaka City South unit of Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Kamal Chowdhury, Workers Party central leader Dipangkar Saha Dipu, Mustafa Alamagir Ratan, AL Paltan thana unit President Abul Hossain and General Secretary Mustaba Jaman Poppy, among others, were present at the campaign.
