People not to put corrupt persons into power : Minister

Food Minister Qamrul Islam said people of Bangladesh will not put corrupt leaders into power anymore. “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is much-admired personality to the world leaders. She now stands third in list of honest heads of states. Whereas former Prime Minister and BNP Chief is now behind bars after being convicted of graft charges,” he said.
The minister said these while addressing a function organized for inaugurating the newly-built building of Ramer Kanda Government Primary School in Keraniganj on Friday morning.
Presided over by Keraniganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahe Elid Mainul Amin, the function was also addressed by local Jubo League leader Eusuf Ali Chowdhury Selim, former student leader Altaf Hossain Biplob, IK Shahin, School Governing Body Chairman Lion Md Yusuf Khan and Fazlur Rahman, among others.
Qamrul said people should bring Awami League in power again as the country is now running on the highway of development.
“We need to elect Awami League again to continue this trend of development. The next general election will be a free, fair and neutral one and we believe that Sheikh Hasina herself will be head of the polls time government,” he added.
The minister urged the local leaders and activists of Awami League to remain united and take necessary preparations for the next polls.
