Gono Forum President and Jatiya Oikyo Prokriya’s convener Dr Kamal Hossain has urged the people of the country to come forward to establish their rights.
“The actual owner of the country is the people. The government is a servant of the people. If they (government) do not understand that, then the citizens will have to come to the role of the owner,” he made the comments at Jashore Press Club on his way to Khulna on Tuesday.
Dr Kamal, an eminent jurist, was going to Khulna to attend a rally there. Focusing on the greater national unity, he said, we forge the unity for the people of Bangladesh that they can enjoy the benefits of democracy. The people will have to join this unity to form a better parliament for greater interest of the country.
Dr. Kamal further said, we came out to build greater unity across the country. It is not for any party purpose but for the rights given in the constitution.
JSD President ASM Abdur Rob, convener of Nagorik Oikyo Mahamudur Rahman Manna, founder of Gonoshasthaya Kendra Dr. Jafarullah Chowdhury, JSD General Secretary Abdul Malek Ratan, Executive President of Ganoforam Subrata Chowdhury, among others, were present at the meeting.
