International Public Service Day was observed in Kishoreganj yesterday in a befitting manner with a call for transforming Governance into Sustainable Development Goals.
Kishoreganj District Administration organised a discussion meeting on the future in now. Accelerating Public Service Innovation for Agenda- 2030 at Art Council Hall on Saturday morning with Acting DC Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil in the chair.
It was addressed among others by Additional Police Super (Crime) Shafiqul Islam, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Mujibur Rahman, District Fisheries Officer Aminul Islam, DLO Dr Abdul Mannan, Sadar UNO Abdullah-al-Masud, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Senior Journalist Saiful Hoque Mollah Dulu, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Assistant Professor Samiul Hoque Mollah, District CAB Secretary Monowar Hossain Rony, Awami League Leader Masum Khan and Assistant Driector of Fire Brigade Md. Dulal Miah.
Acting D.C Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil said that the country had already achived millennuium development goal and was going to achive sustainable development goal by 2030 along with turing Bangladesh into a middle income country by 2021 and developmently 2041.
At least 25 stall setup marking the day at Local Art Council premises. Later, a colourfull rally was brought out marking the International Public Service Day.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: Promoting and ensuring quality public services could be the effective means of attaining peoples’ confidence for the sake of cherished social change.
Quality public service delivery is important for establishing good governance. So, all the service-delivery entities should devise ways and
means to provide quality public services for good governance and further socio-economic development.
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Noor-Ur-Rahman made this observation while addressing a post-rally discussion at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner here on Saturday as Chief Guest.
He called for freeing all the field level public services from corruptions and anomalies for establishing people’s confidence in all tiers of the root-level administrations.
Divisional and District Administrations jointly organised the discussion marking the International Public Service Day-2018.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Nisharul Arif, Acting Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Sujayet Islam and Superintendent of Police Md Shahidullah.
Noor-Ur-Rahman emphasized the need for ensuring good governance everywhere
in the service delivery activities.
He said the present government is committed to build a transparent, accountable, people-oriented, knowledge-based and dynamic public administration.
He urged all concerned to change their all negative mindsets and work together to supplement the government endeavor.
