Dr. Md Shahabul Haque:

Very few political parties exist in the world that entered the hundred years. Such a political party is the Communist Party of China (CPC) or the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). CPC turns 100 last month. CPC’s journey begun on 1st July 1921 in Shanghai city with 50 members. History recognized two important personnel to establish CPC, is Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao. The founders of the party were inspired by the Bolshevik revolution (1917) and the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Initially, CPC followed the ideology of Marxism-Leninism, and later they also follow Mao Zedong thought, socialism with Chinese characteristics, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the Three Represents, the Scientific Outlook on development, and Xi Jinping thought. After 1921, the CPC grew very rapidly. Within 28 years of the establishment of CPC, they found success. They were able to organize a revolution in 1949 which is known to the people as the Chinese Communist revolution.
The 28 years of a country is not a big deal but this time for a political party is enormous. When the CPC uncovered, China was fully shielded from the conflict and chaos. The Chinese people were plunged into misery. The CPC had to face the challenges, united the whole nation, and prepared for a successful revolution. They did not have to look back after the revolution. The two decades hardworking of CPC moved forward for the next six decades magnificently. From the 1940s to now, China has developed into one of the world’s most open economies. China became the second-largest world economy. They contribute 30% annually to world economic growth for many years.
Several issues have helped CPC move forward, strict determination, leadership, and discipline of the party. From the initial stage, the party activists provided huge effort; they have been always with the country people in times of good and bad. CPC has taken always a people-centered approach; they know what the crucial demands of citizens are. To meet citizens’ expectations, they strive to create a multi-level, diverse, and high-quality society. Thus, over the past six decades, the CPC has removed nearly 1.4 billion people out of poverty, providing them with subsistence and then a moderately prosperous life. For the first time in thousands of years, China has eradicated overall and extreme poverty. Besides, China has declared itself malaria -free country on June 30 of this year after 70 years of effort. In this aspect, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, China’s victory was hard-won and achieved only after decades of targeted and consistent action. The CPC has been successful in continually adhering to one subject and waiting for a successful conclusion.
When China is celebrating the centenary of the CPC, as well as the declaration of a malaria-free country, it is a great achievement of Chinese history. Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said, CCP and the Chinese government have always put people’s health, safety, and prosperity first. It is true CPC always gives priority to people’s well-being. When China faces any disaster or difficulty CPC always commands party member to serve at the forefront. In 2020, 39.144 million party members fought the COVID-19 pandemic on the front lines. They did everything possible to prevent infection and save patients. As a result, China is one of the top performers in pandemic response.
The leadership is the crucial part of the CPC, the CPC has got leadership like Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao, and Xi Jinping. It can be seen by reviewing the lives of all of them, the leaders all come from grass rote level, they everyone passed a big time in their lives in villages. Therefore, the above-mentioned leaders realize the people of China, society, and culture, and take the initiatives and policies accordingly. The CPC leaders showed the dream to the country’s people and the dream is getting true now. In this continuity, CPC will take China one step further with the whole world.
