UNB, Dhaka :
Joint general secretary of Awami League Abdur Rahman on Saturday said Awami League will be elected for the 3rd consecutive time as the people of the country do not want to live under any failed leadership.
He made the remark at a press briefing at the party president’s Dhanmondi political office.
“Awami League president Sheikh Hasina will be elected for the fourth time by winning the next
election. The people of the country don’t want to live under any failed leadership,” said the AL leader. He further said, “The country’s people haven’t accepted the BNP-Jamaat alliance’s terrorism and the politics of violence. Awami League will win with an absolute majority.” Abdur Rahman also said AL is optimistic about its victory but they will accept gladly whatever be the election outcome. He said, “The most peaceful election in the country’s history is going to be held on December 30 except some stray incidents of violence.” He strongly condemned the attacks carried out by BNP-Jamaat men which left 461 Awami league activists injured. Abdur Rahman said, “BNP has been moving to different places. They wanted to meet BJP leader Ram Madhav in Bangkok but didn’t get any response. Even people are not favouring them and now BNP is trying to conspire for foiling the election,” he said.
