Seminar held: PEN-BD joins LIT Fest in city

Led by Pen Chairman eminent novelist Farida Hossain (Recipient of Ekushey award) PEN Bangladesh chapter participated in and steered a seminar on the role of translated literature in the LIT Fest held at Bangla Academy recently. Secretary General Prof (Essayist) Dr Aireen Jaman, Senior Vice President Masud Ahmed (Novelist and Comptroller and Auditor General), Members, Sakib Lohani (Poet) and Lovely Basher (Poet) discussed the various aspects of the issues at this hour long seminar. They underscored the significance of translated literature for trans boundary benefit of readers which is no less important than its vernacular form.
Anis Ahmed and Ms Sadaf mooted this event. Professor Niaz Zaman, Ex Head, Department of English, DU and a large number of readers were present during the seminar.
A delegation of PEN attended the 81st International Congress of Writers held in Quebec City in Canada during October, 2015.
