Cutting line for nonpayment: PDB office in Phulbari ransacked, officer assaulted

Workers of Phulbari Unit of Dinajpur Truckers union attacked the Power Development office and allegedly assaulted the officer and staff here in Phulbari upazila of Dinajpur on Monday noon for cutting off the power line for non-payment.
The incident took place at around 12.50pm on Monday.
According to the PDB officials , on Monday they cut off the power line of Phulbari unit office of Dinajpur Truckers union for nonpayment of power bill. Their total dues was Tk 7,813. Despite repeated notice they did not pay the bill.
Getting angry for cutting the power line of their office, the leaders of the trade union led by Razu Ahmed General Secretary of the unit went to the PDB office in Phulbari town on Monday noon and went on rampage damaging the furniture, telephone and other official accessories and ransacked the official documents as well. The angry workers allegedly attack and assaulted Mahbubul Alam RE [Residential Engineer] and Nurunnabi Sarker an assistant engineer along with other staffs.
