Power-hungry people vandalised the office of the Power Development Board (PDB) executive engineer in Sadar upazila here on Wednesday, protesting frequent load-shedding and low voltage.
Anwar Hossain, sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station, said the angry residents of Dhanharia and Udoypur villages laid siege to the office of Mohammad Saifuzamman, executive engineer of PDB, at around 11am demanding uninterrupted power supply.
At one stage, they stormed into the office and vandalised computers, chairs, tables and furniture.
Being informed, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.
The residents of the two villages said they had been suffering from frequent power outages and low voltage for long. They lodged complaints to the PWB executive engineer several times but he did not pay any heed to the demand, they said.
