Power Development Board (PDB) has been implementing a project to ensure a safe and dependable power supply to meet increasing demand for electricity till 2025.
Rajshahi Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton inaugurated the newly constructed 33/11KV, 2X10/13.33 MVA GIS Substation on the second instant at City Hat in Rajshahi under the project as the chief guest, reports BSS.Project Director Jahangir Alam, Executive Engineer Nizamul Haque Sarker, Managing Director of Northern Electricity Supply Company Limited Zakiul Islam and Chief Engineer Abdur Rashid were present.
Engineer Nizamul Haque Sarker told media that the five and half-year project styled “Power Distribution Management Development, Rajshahi Zone” is being implemented in Rajshahi City and 16 upazilas of eight districts under Rajshahi division.
The Taka 964.16-crore project has started improving the distribution system along with capacity enhancement of the distribution zone coupled with supplying power uninterruptedly, he added.
Upon its successful implementation by the forthcoming June, the scheme will meet the gradually mounting power demand and reduce system loss.
