A mobile court of Power Development Board (PDB), Chittagong, in a drive on Wednesday filed eight cases and cut off 22 electric connections for not paying electricity bills.
Mohammad Mohiuddin, senior judicial magistrate of Power Court (North) of PDB, Chittagong, led the mobile court at city’s Madarbari area and came up with the move.
PDB sources said the cases were filed for realizing a total of TK 13 lakh two thousand 939 unpaid electricity bills.
PDB Executive Engineer Shahidul Islam Mridha, assistant engineers – Mostafizur Rahman and Mizanur Rahman, sub-assistant engineers – Mukit Ahammad Chowdhury and Abdur Rob, among others, were present during the drive.
