A mobile court of Power Development Board (PDB), Chittagong, in a drive on Wednesday filed 13 cases and cut off 43 electric connections for not paying electricity bills and using illegal power connections.
Mohammad Mohiuddin, senior judicial magistrate of Power Court (North) of PDB, Chittagong, led the mobile court at city’s Sholokbohor and Muradpur areas and came up with the move. The court also fined TK 15 thousand for using illegal power connection.
PDB sources said the cases were filed for realizing a total of TK 14 lakh 89thousand 99 arrears.
PDB Executive Engineer AFM Nur Uddin Ahmed, Assistant Engineer Shahidul Islam, Sub-Assistant Engineers- Anisur Rahman and Alif Al Mamun, among others, were present.
