UNB, Satkhira :An activist of the outlawed Purba Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) was injured in a ‘gunfight’ with police at Tegharia in Tala upazila early Saturday. The injured was identified as Sonjit Odhikari,35, son of Kartik Odhikari, a resident of Jalalpur village of the upazila and an active member of the outlawed PBCP.Sub-Inspector (Information) of Tala Police Station Kamal Hossain said tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area when Sonjit along with his gang members was staying there at about 1:30 am as the law enforcers launched a weeklong countrywide anti-militant combing operation.
