Patients of Nurpur Health Complex getting poor service

Patients of the Nurpur Health Complex of the district have been suffering due to poor services of the centre.
Source said only four physicians out of eight posts are serving the patients coming from different remote villages of Lala bazaar union of Dakshin Surma upazilas. But, the patients are not getting quality services due to shortage of physicians, source added.
In recent visit, this correspondent found the patients are waiting in front of private clinics seeking the standard medicare service for their dearest patients costing much money. They urged the authority concern to come forward immediately to appoint the adequate physicians for rendering the service for the low income people.
On the other hand, a total 2 physicians are working at the union sub-centre against 5 vacant posts, causing serious problem both for male and female patients across the area, said, upazila health and family planning officer. The poor people have no ability to bear the cost of private clinics to treat their week men, he also added.
“I came to the health complex hoping for better treatment for my son Alamin, 23, who is suffering from diarrhoea for two days,” said Mala Beya, 60. She again said, “I have no ability to pay the cost of private clinic as the condition of my son is deteriorating gradually.”
Civil surgeon Of Sylhet said, “We have sent letters several times to higher authority seeking doctors for the vacant post.
