App-based ride-sharing service Pathao has signed an agreement with bKash allowing its passengers to pay fares through the mobile financial service provider for taking a ride.
Mizanur Rashid, Chief Commercial Officer of bKash, and Hussain M Elius Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pathao, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at the bKash head office in the capital recently, said a press release on Monday.
Zahedul Islam, Deputy General Manager of Corporate Communications Department of bKash, said bKash Payment is now available for Pathao services. To make the payment through bKash, the customers have to select ‘Digital Payment’ and then ‘bKash’ from Pathao app on completion of rides.
He said the payment process will make customers’ life comfortable as they will not have to solely depend on physical cash for making payment for Pathao rides.
Pathao users will also get attractive offers in future on bKash payment for Pathao rides, Zahedul said, adding that bKash payment will also be available for Pathao food delivery and parcel services soon.
Launched in 2011, bKash, a joint venture of BRAC Bank, US based Money in Motion, International Finance Corporation of World Bank Group, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Ant Financial, offers broad range of mobile financial services to the common people of Bangladesh.
