A female Bengali settler sustained bullet injuries in a gun fight between two ethnic minority groups over establishing supremacy at Islampur Paschimpara in Naniarchar upazila on Sunday evening.
The injured was identified as Asia Begum, wife of Mosharraf Hossain of the area. Officer-in-charge of Naniarchar Police Station Abdul Latif said the two groups exchanged gunshots in the area over establishing their dominance.
During the gun battle, a bullet hit passerby Asia, leaving her injured.
Locals rescued her and took her to Naniarchar Upazila Health Complex where doctor referred her to Rangamati Sadar Hospital.
