The lone accused of the killing of an owner of garment factory in Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital, has confessed his involvement in the incident before the court.
Police picked up Golam Mostofa in connection with the murder.
Badrul Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Ashulia Police Station on Tuesday told The New Nation that they produced Golam Mostofa to the court and he confessed his involvement in the murder before the magistrate Under ‘Section 164’. Later, the court sent him to the jail.
The OC also said that Golam Mostofa only took part in the murder.
Garment factory owner Md Azam, 30, was killed in the office room of the factory — Jubayer Cap Company Ltd — located on the second floor of Bhai Bhai Super Market in Ashulia on Saturday night. The accused Golam Mostofa was his business partner.
Before it, the accused first rejected the accusation. But, he had admitted that Azam and he were staying together in the factory office in that night. Some masked men entered there and hit Azam in the head and hacked him to death.
The victim’s family alleged that Mostofa along with his cohorts killed Azam over a business related matter.
