Parna sings debut playback song for film ‘Radio’

Promising singer Himadrita Parna has rendered her debut playback song titled ‘Praner Pradip’ for the film ‘Radio’
directed by Anonno Mamun.
The playback song was composed by Emon Saha, while he has also arranged its music. Evergreen
legendary singer Kumar Bishwajit has lent his voice to another
playback song alongside Parna
in the movie.
Parna is very much excited to render her debut playback song. While sharing her feelings in this regard, this talented singer said, “I have lent my voice for a playback song of a movie for the first time. In fact, it is a milestone for me. It was my long awaited desire to lend my voice for a playback song of a movie. My dream came into true by rendering this song for a movie. I feel really honoured to be a part of such a project which marks such an important event in the history of our country.”
It is noted that the film ‘Radio’ is based on the historic speech of 7th March by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The movie will portray how Bangabandhu’s historic speech inspired the village people to go to Liberation War and showcase an important chapter in the historic event. The cast of the movie includes Riaz Ahmed, Zakia Bari Mamo, Nader Chowdhury, Lutfor Rahman George, Pran Roy, Rawnak Hasan, Elina Shammi, Rashed Al Mamun, among others.
Besides playback song ‘Praner Pradip,’ Parna also lent her voice for a musical film titled ‘Mayai Bendhechhi,’ which lyrics were written by Zahid Akbar and music was composed by Emon Saha. Kolkata’s Dolon Moinak has made this musical film. Singer Parna along with film actor Emon and Rimi performed as models in the musical film. Basically it was Parna’s original solo song. She informed that shooting of this musical film was done in different locations in Sunamganj district.
While talking about on being part of the film ‘Radio’ Parna shared her experiences. She said that was an honour to have been part of a playback song where she got to sing alongside a legend like Kumar Bishwajit, that too on her debut playback. It was also a matter of pride for her to be part of a project with an actor like Riaz Ahmed who she has always been a fan of and really admired his work.
Parna said,”I was asked to be in the music video of the movie. I could not go there for personal reasons as the shooting was outside Dhaka. That’s why I wasn’t in the video. However, it would have been nice to be a part of the video.”
Himadrita Parna shared that even though she is a singer but she was also got offer for acting. “I have been offered to work in acting roles many times before. There is no such plan as of yet, but music is my propriety. I love music very much and it is my biggest passion,” said the singer. When asked about her future plans for music, Parna told this correspondent that she is looking to cover some of the old and modern songs suitable for this time but also which will remind the audience of how rich the Bengali songs are. “Basically music is in my blood. I was born into a musical family where my parents played tabla, I still wake up to the sound of my father playing tabla. My parents wanted me to be an artiste since I was young and that’s what I am trying to do,” Parna also said.
Daughter of Chitta Ranjan Das and Biva Das, Himadrita Parna was born in Dhaka on December 16, 1999. She completed her SSC from Gulshan Model School and College and HSC from South Point School and College (Baridhara branch). Now besides rendering song, Parna is Honours third year student of Pathology at an institute, the singer also said.
