The Jatiya Sangsad (Bangladesh Parliament) will go into its 23nd session of the 10th Parliament on October 21 after a 31-day recess.
President M Abdul Hamid convened the session exercising his power bestowed upon him by Article 72 (1) of the Constitution, according to a press statement issued here on Thursday evening.
The statement said the session would begin at 4:30 pm on October 21. Prior to the start of the session, the business advisory committee of parliament will meet with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair. The committee will fix the duration and businesses of the upcoming session. Earlier, the 22nd session of the current parliament was prorogued on September 20.
