Father and mother were allegedly stabbed to death by his son as they did not give him money for buying drugs in Ramkrishnopur village of Chowgacha upazila in Jashore district yesterday (Wednesday) noon.
The deceased were identified as Mohirauddin, 60 and Amena Begum, 50.
Police have arrested the victims’ son, Milon Hossain (35) in this connection.
Police and villagers said that Milon Hossain demanded money from his father and mother to buy drugs, but they could not give the money. At one stage Milon Hossain became angry and stabbed his father and mother leaving dead on the spot at 12 am on Wednesday.
At that time, locals went to their house and saw Mohirauddin and Amena Begum lying in a bloody condition in the backyard. At the same time, locals
followed him when, Milon ran away. Locals caught him from a field three to four kilometers away from the village.
Local UP member Babul Hossain said that after receiving the news, the bodies of the deceased were found lying on the spot. Their son, Milon, has been arrested while running away. Milon is already drug addicted. Often he used to beat parents for drug money. However, their younger children left home to study in Dhaka.
Officer-in-Charge of Chowgacha Police Station Rifat Khan Rajib said that Milon stabbed to death his parents over a family dispute. Two bodies were recovered and sent to Jashore General Hospital. Milon was arrested in the incident.
