Feni Correspondent :Local Awami League (AL) leaders and activists on Friday morning attacked Parshuram Upazila Nirabahi Officer (UNO) in Feni district, leaving him seriously injuredThe UNO HM Rakib Haider, who received serious injuries in his head and other parts of the body, is now undergoing treatment at Parshuram Upazila Health Complex.Locals and witnesses said when Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan was on the way to visit Bilonia Land Port at Parshuram upazila, local AL leader Khairul Bashar Tapan along with other workers tried to greet the Minister at the NationalKindergarten. But the UNO obstructed them. Khairul Bashar Tapan owns National Kindergarten. As the UNO HM Rakib Haider barred the AL leaders and the workers, they became furious and swooped on him and started pounding him indiscriminately in broad daylight near the Dhonikunda crossing point at about 10:am.Police rescued the UNO from the clutches of the AL local leader and workers, and admitted him to Parshuram Upazila Health Complex. As his condition deteriorating, the UNO was transferred to the Feni Modern Sadar Hospital for better treatment.On duty physician Habibur Rahman said that the UNO got serious injuries in his head and other parts of the body.
