Bangladeshi pair Ahsan Habib Parash and Shapla Akhter reached the mixed doubles pre-quarterfinal of the Yonex-Sunrise Bangladesh Open International Badminton Challenge beating Pankaj Chand-Amita Giri pair (Nepal) 21-11, 21-13 at the Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
In the day’s other mixed doubles matches, Bikash Shrestha and Nangsal Tamang (Nepal) beat Tushar Krishna Roy and Rehena Parvin (Bangladesh) 21-9, 22-20; Satinder Malik and Kristi Das pair (India) defeated Indra Mehata and Meena Shrestha (Nepal) 21-18, 21-12; Wee Gieen Tan and Yen Wei Peck (Malaysia) beat Gaurav Venkat and Juhi Dewangan (India) 21-17, 21-13; while Ratnajit Tamang and Sara Devi Tamang (Nepal) defeated Jabed Mostafa and Elina Sultana (Bangladesh) 21-11, 21-15 to reach the pre-quarterfinals.
In the women’s singles, Ozge Bayrak (Turkey) beat Riya Pillai (India) 21-12, 21-7; Neslihan Yigit (Turkey) defeated Shruti Mundada (India) 21-4, 21-15; Lee Zii Yii (Malaysia) beat Brishti Khatun (Bangladesh) 21-7, 21-4; A Kapuru Mudiyanselage (Sri Lanka) defeated Negin Amiripour (Iran) 21-11, 21-19; while Saili Rane (India) beat Nangsal Tamang (Nepal) 21-10, 21-10 to reach the pre-quarterfinals.
